Operational Project Planning:
Developing and managing the basis of schedule, for example using schedule guide GAO 16 89G, best practices for project schedules.
- Activity resourcing / resource loading and implementing data tracking and reporting tools
- Critical Path Method (CPM): identification the critical path, which determines the project’s minimum duration.
- Float (Total/Free):"float" or "slack" is very common to understand schedule flexibility.
- Baseline: creating, updating, and comparing project baselines for progress tracking.
- Resource Loading/Allocation: Assigning labour, equipment, and material resources to activities.
- Earned Value Management (EVM): S-curve, Actual Cost (ACWP), Planned Value (BCWS), and Earned Value (BCWP).
- Look-ahead Schedules: Creating 3-week or 3-month schedules to focus on near-term work
- Import/Export (XER/Excel): Tips on importing and exporting project data, particularly using .xer files and Excel
Daily Claims
We provide services to both clients and contractors to manage delays using recognised forensic schedule analysis techniques to ensure we remain compliant with recognised Time Impact Analysis standards.
- Windows Analysis / Time Slice Windows: Retrospective, step-by-step analysis.
- As-Planned vs. As-Built Analysis: A fundamental and straightforward comparison method.
- Collapsed As-Built (But-For Analysis): A common retrospective method to determine what would have happened "but for" the delays.
- Impacted As-Planned: A "what-if" scenario often searched for early-stage project analysis.
